Weddings
The role of the celebrant is to work with and for the couple to give them the ceremony that reflects their hopes and dreams for their perfect day while encompassing their personalities, both individually and together.
Renewal of Vows
A vow renewal ceremony is often similar to the couple’s original wedding ceremony. There is normally no entry procession and the celebrant will request the couple to come and stand before their guests.
Namings
The role of the celebrant in a naming ceremony is to listen carefully to the parent’s wishes for this very special celebration and then to help guide them into creating structure and meaning into the day. The ceremonial element can act as a more formal centre or focus point to a party like celebration throughout the gathering.
Funerals
The funeral ceremony helps us to acknowledge the reality of the death of a loved one. The role of the celebrant is to work with the bereaved and encourage the expression of grief felt for their loss, value their culture, provide support, respect their beliefs and offer continuity and hope for the way forward.
Memorials
A memorial ceremony is a a gathering of friends and family to pay their respects to the person who has passed away. The body isn’t present as internment has usually already taken place or, the deceased may have passed away under tragic circumstances and the body is not available. The role of the celebrant is exactly the same as in the role of a funeral celebrant.
Pet Memorials
We love our pets and they are a very much a part of our families. To have a ceremony performed by a celebrant in their memory is an opportunity to bring closure to the departure of a much loved animal and it allows a fond remembrance of the departed pet.
